Тhe Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) hosted a two-day scholarly conference “Human Rights in State of Emergency” organized by the Committee for the Study of National Minorities and Human Rights. Research fellows of the Institute for Comparative Law, Dr. Milica Matijević and Doc. Dr. Miroslav Đorđević, as well as research associate Ana Zdravković, LL.M. attended the conference. Doc. Dr. Đorđević also participated in the discussion with his brief analysis of the constitutional role of the President of the Republic in a state of exception, as well as a review of the justification for the declaration of a state of emergency in Serbia due to the COVID 19 pandemic. His speech will be published in the Proceedings of SANU, which is expected to be available by the end of 2023.

On December 27, 2022, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia held a public hearing on a set of new judicial laws. Research fellow of the Institute of Comparative Law, Doc. Dr. Miroslav Đorđević (who is also a member of the Working group for prosecutorial laws) addressed the audience, pointing out several important aspects of improving the position of public prosecutors in Serbia.
